October 6 (SeeNews) - Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air will close its base in Bosnia's capital Sarajevo on November 1, local media reported.
The decision is a result of the current challenging macroeconomic environment, as well as the continuing challenges in the supply chain, news provider Ekapija reported on Wednesday, quoting a statement from the air carrier.
Wizz Air intends to focus on boosting operations in its base in Tuzla instead, according to the media report. The airline plans to launch new services from Tuzla to Eindhoven and increase the flight frequency to Basel Mulhouse, Freiburg, Dortmund and Memmingen.
Wizz Air opened its base in Sarajevo in May 2021.
