April 25 (SeeNews) - Bosnian state-owned road company Autoceste FBiH said it has signed a 123 million marka ($67.4 million/62.9 million euro) contract with local civil engineering company Euro-Asfalt for the completion of the 5.5-kilometre-long Hranjen tunnel.
Euro-Asfalt was selected as winner in a tender for the assignment, which did not attract any other offers, Autoceste FBiH said in a statement last week.
The agreement was signed on March 21.
The planned works include breaking through the last part of the tunnel, building the primary substructure and installing the secondary lining, as well as the preparation of project documentation for the final phase of the construction of the tunnel, according to an earlier statement by the road company.
The deadline for the completion of the works is 30 months. The project is financed by the government of Bosnia's Federation and Autoceste FBiH.
The Hranjen tunnel is part of the Praca-Gorazde expressway, which is currently under construction. The Praca-Gorazde expressway will link the Bosnian capital Sarajevo to the town of Gorazde situated around 100 kilometres to the southeast.
The Federation is one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
