March 21 (SeeNews) - Romania sold on Thursday 1.279 billion lei ($280.8 million/257.1 million euro) worth of fixed-rate government securities maturing on April 29, 2030, above target, central bank data showed.
The average accepted yield fell to 6.54%, from 6.60% achieved at the previous auction of Treasury bonds of the same issue held in February. Demand for the bonds, which have an annual coupon of 8%, dropped to 1.621 billion lei from 1.822 billion lei at the previous auction.
The issue will be reopened on Monday when the finance ministry hopes to raise an additional 90 million lei through a non-competitive tender.
