April 24 (SeeNews) - Romania’s central bank said that M3, the broadest gauge of money supply, grew by a nominal 10.8% year-on-year to 680.1 billion lei ($146 billion/136.6 billion euro) in March, after increasing by an annual 10.7% in February.
On a monthly comparison basis, M3 money supply rose 0.3% in March, the central bank, BNR, said in a monthly monetary statistics report on Wednesday.
In real terms, M3 grew by 3.9% on the year and inched down by 0.1% on the month in March.
Romania’s M1 monetary aggregate increased by 5.5% on the year in March, to 403.2 billion lei, after a 3.9% increase in February.
Net foreign assets rose by an annual 25% in March, reaching 359.8 billion lei, while net domestic assets decreased by 1.8% year-on-year to 320.3 billion lei.
