April 3 (SeeNews) - Moldova's unemployment rate fell to 3.0% in 2018 from 4.1% a year earlier, the country's statistical office said.
The number of unemployed in the country of three million people was 38,400 last year, down by 13,200 compared to 2017, the National Bureau of Statistics said in a statement on Tuesday.
The jobless rate was 7.4% among people aged between 15 and 24 and 5.6% among people aged between 15 and 29.
The workforce in the country increased by 2.5% on the year to 1.29 million people in 2018.
Last year, the unemployment rate among men in Moldova was 3.5% versus 2.5% among women.
The statistics bureau also said the jobless rate was 4.5% in urban areas and 1.8% in rural areas.
