January 30 (SeeNews) - The government of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Federation has approved an increase of 3.9% of the wholesale gas price, applicable as of January 1, local media reported.
The entity's government approved the gas price increase at an urgent government session which took place on January 25, news provider Klix reported on Monday.
The report from the session has not been published on the government's website by the time the article was published.
The government acted at the request of state-owned gas supply company Energoinvest, which sought price adjustment in line with developments on the global gas and oil market, according to the media report.
Energoinvest increased the price of gas deliveries by 4.96% in October after decreasing it twice earlier in 2023.
Gazprom delivers gas to Energoinvest under a long-term agreement, with the price adjusted on a quarterly basis. The Russian gas is flowing to Bosnia via Turkey, Bulgaria and Serbia.
The Federation and the Serb Republic are the two autonomous entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina.
