May 7 (SeeNews) - Romania's unemployment rate stood at 5.3% in March, down by 0.3 percentage points from February, the statistical office said on Tuesday, quoting provisional data.
Compared to March 2023, Romania's jobless rate was 0.2 percentage points lower, the statistical office said in a monthly report.
Registered unemployed in Romania numbered 441,200 in March, compared to 466,400 in February and 454,100 in March of last year.
The jobless rate among women in March was 4.9% versus 5.7% among men.
The unemployment rate among adults aged between 25 and 74 was estimated at 4.2%. Adults aged 25 to 74 who were jobless in March accounted for 74.1% of all unemployed people. Unemployment among people aged 15 to 24 remained high, at 22.1%.
Romania had a workforce of 8.15 million people in 2023, down from 8.27 million in 2022.
