April 16 (SeeNews) - The blue-chip BELEX15 index of the Belgrade Stock Exchange closed 0.20% higher at 1,002.45 points on Tuesday, boosted by gains in oil and gas company NIS [BEL:NIIS], bourse data showed.
NIS added 0.70% to 868 dinars in a volume of 1,413 shares.
At the other end, cookware maker Metalac [BEL:MTLC] was the day's only blue-chip loser, shedding 0.29% to 1,733 dinars.
Industrial gases maker Messer Tehnogas [BEL:TGAS] generated the day's largest turnover. A total of 53 Messer shares changed hands in a turnover of 1.3 million dinars. Messer closed flat at 25,000 dinars.
The broader BELEXline, a free-float market capitalisation weighted index, also rose, closing 0.10% higher at 2,156.02 points.
Total turnover on the Belgrade bourse soared to 368.5 million dinars ($3.3 million/3.1 million euro) on Tuesday from 3.8 million dinars on Monday. Trading in Treasury bonds accounted for 363.2 million dinars of Tuesday's turnover.
