April 29 (SeeNews) - Serbia will complete by the end of September the construction of a 9.5-km bypass road in the central town of Gornji Milanovac worth 30.5 million euro ($32.6 million), infrastructure minister Goran Vesic said.
The construction of four bridges is in the final stage, whereas one overpass and retaining walls have been built, Vesic said in a Facebook post on Sunday.
Asphalting will begin in May, he added.
Once the bypass is complete, freight traffic will be diverted out of the city.
In November 2021, Serbia signed a deal with China's Power Construction Corporation (Powerchina) for the construction of the bypass.
The bypass will connect Gornji Milanoviac to the Milos Veliki motorway. The motorway will connect Belgrade to Montenegro. Its total length will be 258 km upon completion.
