April 19 (SeeNews) - Serbia will lower by some 15% natural gas prices for industrial consumers as of May 1, the head of state-owned natural gas importer and distributor Srbijagas, Dusan Bajatovic, said.
Industrial consumers who buy natural gas on the free market will feel the price change in their June gas bills, Bajatovic told state broadcaster RTS on Thursday. An audio file with his statement was uploaded on RTS' website.
Bajatovic said that natural gas prices for households will remain unchanged.
In November, Srbijagas raised by 10% the average price for households to 4.54 dinars ($0.0455/0.0427 euro) per kWh, excluding taxes and fees.
Serbia's annual consumer price inflation slowed to 5% year-on-year in March, from 5.6% in February. The country's central bank expects annual inflation to return to the targeted range of 1.5% to 4.5% in May.
