TIRANA (Albania), November 12 (SeeNews) – Albanian company Gjikuria has won a 50.6 million euro ($57.3 million) tender for the construction of 14.7 km long road linking the yacht port in the coastal village of Orikum to Dukat village in Vlora region, the infrastructure ministry said on Monday.
Two candidates had submitted offers in the government tender for awarding a 13-year concession contract on the project in southwestern Albania – Gjikuria and 4 A-M, the ministry said in notice published on the website of the public procurement agency.
The new road is expected to ease traffic in Albania's southern coastal area, give a further boost to tourism and enhance economic and cultural exchanges by reducing transportation costs.
