April 22 (SeeNews) - Albania’s power grid operator, OST, said on Monday it has opened tender procedures for the construction of a new autotransformer at a substation in the Northern municipality of Koman, under a budget valued at 300 million leks ($3.1 million/3 million euro).
An autotransformer is a type of transformer that consists of a single winding, as opposed to two separate windings in traditional transformers.
Prospective bidders must be able to complete the autotransformer’s construction and adapt it to the existing power system within a year, OST said in a tender notice.
Offers must be submitted until May 7.
