April 30 (SeeNews) - Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air said on Tuesday that on June 24 it will launch direct flights connecting Bulgaria's capital Sofia to Heraklion, on the Greek island of Crete.
Flights on the route will be operated twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, expanding Wizz Air's holiday route selection in Bulgaria, the airline said in a press release.
Last month, Wizz Air said it controlled 28% of Bulgaria's market in the summer of 2023, making it a market leader.
Wizz Air entered the Bulgarian market in 2005. It currently operates flights from Sofia, Burgas, Varna and Plovdiv.
