August 5 (SeeNews) - Bosnian arms manufacturer Tehnicki Remont (TR) has delivered two multifunctional armoured vehicles to Bosnia's Serb Republic interior ministry, to be used by its police force, the ministry said.
The Despot armoured vehicles can be used for patrol and reconnaissance missions, as command vehicles, for transport and support of special operation units, counter-terrorism operations and border and territory control, the interior ministry quoted Slavenko Ristic, CEO of Tehnicki Remont, as saying in a press release on Friday.
The Serb Republic's interior minister Dragan Lukac said that the ministry, particularly the counter-terrorism unit, now has a new potential, enabling it to intervene with the new vehicles in all situations they face, in accordance with the law.
The Serb Republic's interior ministry did not disclose the value of the purchase.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
