June 6 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's consumer prices grew by 8.1% year-on-year in May, after rising by 6.9% in April, the country's statistical office said.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices went up by 2.0% in May, after growing 2.6% in April, the statistical office said in a statement posted on its website.
In annual terms, the largest upward impact on the annual consumer price inflation, 1.9 percentage points (pps), came from higher prices of petroleum products. Additional 1.7 pp came from 11.1% higher prices of food.
On the other hand, the consumer price inflation was pushed down by 0.6 pp by 15.8% lower prices of electricity.
Measured by the EU's harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), Slovenia recorded annual inflation of 8.7% in May.
