LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), October 23 (SeeNews) – The net profit of Slovenian banks increased 17.0% year-on-year in the first eight months of 2018, reaching 368.3 million euro ($423.2 million), the country's central bank said on Tuesday.
The Slovenian banks' net interest income rose 3.4% on the year to 445.0 million euro in the eight-month period, while their net fee and commission income added 2.1% to 212.9 million euro, Bank of Slovenia said in a monthly report on the performance of the banking sector.
The total gross revenue of banks in Slovenia rose by an annual 5.0% to 779.6 million euro in January-August, while operating costs dropped 0.5% to 431.9 million euro.
Slovenian banks' total assets increased to 38,542 million euro as at end-August, up from 37,946 million euro at the end of 2017.
