April 5 (SeeNews) - Sweden-based software solutions provider Sigma Technology Group has acquired a majority stake in Kosovo’s software company Appbites, Kosovo media reported.
Sigma is planning to expand its activities beyond its current markets and sees Kosovo as a promising ground for talents in the information technologies (IT) field, local news provider Telegrafi quoted Niklas Malmros, CEO at Sigma’s business solutions division, as saying on Thursday.

Emails seeking financial details of the transaction, sent to Sigma Technology and Appbites by SeeNews, went unanswered by the time this article was published.
According to Kosovo’s business register, Sigma owns a 50.1% stake in Appbites. Sigma CEO Carl Vikingsson, its informatics consultancy division CEO, Daniel Bjorkman, and Niklas Malmros have acquired 3.3% share each. Local investors own the remainder.
Sigma Technology Group was established in 1997. According to its website, it operates in Sweden, Hungary, China, Norway, Germany, and Ukraine. Appbites was founded in Pristina in 2016.
