April 29 (SeeNews) - Albania-Kosovo power exchange Alpex said on Monday that Kosovo-based energy company GSA Energji became the seventh member of the exchange for the Kosovo bidding zone.
GSA Energji will now be able to trade in Alpex’s day-ahead market, Alpex said in post on social media LinkedIn.
Alpex, founded by Albania’s power transmission operator OST and Kosovo’s KOSTT in October 2020, now has 24 members in Albanian and Kosovo bidding zones, data on its website shows.
Alpex debuted in Albania in April 2023. Its first auction in the Kosovo bidding zone, which also kicked off trade in the inter-zone exchange, was held on January 31.
The total volume of electricity traded in the Kosovo-Albanian power exchange Alpex day-ahead market (DAM) amounted to 152 GWh in its second month of cross-zone trading in March, Alpex said earlier this month.
Founded in Pristina in 2015, GSA Energji engages solely in energy trade, according to the country’s business register.
