April 8 (SeeNews) - Serbia expects to complete the construction of the 67.49-kilometre expressway linking the eastern city Pozarevac to the eastern towns of Veliko Gradiste and Golubac by September 2025, infrastructure minister Goran Vesic said.
By the end of this year, the part of the Danube Corridor to Pozarevac and an additional 11 km connecting Golubac and Veliko Gradiste will be completed, Vesic said in a Facebook post over the weekend.
The extension of the expressway, from Golubac to Negotin in the eastren Bor district of the country, is already in the design stage, Vesic added.
Last July, president Aleksandar Vucic said the expressway would be completed by the end of next year.
The expressway features 20 bridges and overpasses, 24 interchanges and intersections with local roads, as well as a bridge over the Velika Morava river.
Serbia and China's Shandong Hi-Speed Group (SDHS) signed a 337 million euro ($365.1 million) deal for the construction of the expressway in 2021.
