August 18 (SeeNews) - Fast food chain McDonald's opened a new restaurant in Arad, western Romania, its licence holder in Romania Premier Restaurants Romania said on Thursday.
Located in the AFI Arad mall, the new restaurant is the company's first drive-thru unit in Arad and the second restaurant in the city, Premier Capital said in a press release.
"We are talking about an investment that supports the local community by creating over 60 jobs and which will allow us to offer customers their favorite products both in-store and through the Drive-Thru system," Premier Restaurants Romania general manager Paul Dragan said.
McDonald's plans to continue its expansion and development strategy in Romania, by opening new restaurants and by expanding its McDelivery service and digitizing existing restaurants, Premier Restaurants added.
McDonald's entered the Romanian market in 1994 and currently employs over 5,000 in 28 cities.
In 2016, McDonalds sold its restaurants and coffee-shops in Romania to Premier Capital, which operates the local licence through Premier Restaurants Romania.
Premier Capital also holds McDonald's licence in Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania and Malta.
