May 22 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Burgas municipality said that it has signed a contract with local company Eldrive Charging for the construction of 50 charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs).
The project benefits from EU funding from Operational Programme Regions in Growth, the municipality said in a statement on Thursday.
The 50 charging stations in Burgas are part of a larger EU-funded project for the construction of a total of 600 charging stations in Burgas, Sofia, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Pernik, Blagoevgrad, and Kyustendil.
If the charging stations in Burgas prove to be an effective investment, the municipality will consider adding another 50, it said.
Eldrive Charging is a wholly-owned unit of local company eMobility International.
