April 8 (SeeNews) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Monday it has approved a senior unsecured loan of up to 2 million euro ($2.2 million) to Bosnia and Herzegovina's non-deposit microfinance institution Mikrofin for residential green investments.
The funds will be used for investments in high-performance energy efficiency technologies for residential buildings, construction of high energy performance residential buildings, and energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in the public sector, the EBRD said in a project summary document.
The loan will be provided under the Western Balkans GEFF III - REPower Residential Programme.
Banja Luka-based Mikrofin is the largest non-deposit microfinance institution in Bosnia. It is owned by the citizens' association Mikrofin.
