May 25 (SeeNews) - Croatia's biggest retailer Konzum and Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT] have opened their first ultrafast electric vehicle (EV) charging station, Konzum said on Monday.
The 160 kW DC facility providing full charging within 15 minutes was opened at a Super Konzum store in Zagreb, the retailer said in an emailed statement.
The event follows the December opening of two 50 kW DC fast charging stations at Konzum stores located in the western cities of Karlovac and Delnice, respectively, also in cooperation with Hrvatski Telekom which has so far installed more than 250 individual charging points, or more than 50% of all available in Croatia, Konzum said.
The installation of the ultrafast charging station is part of the Comprehensive fast-charging corridor network in South East Europe project, which is co-financed by the EU's Connecting Europe Facility, the retailer said.
The objective of the project is to set up a multi-standard open-access fast charging network in Croatia and Romania, via the deployment of 69 multi-standard fast charging stations (50 kW DC and 22 kW AC) - 53 in Romania at 25 sites and 16 in Croatia at 6 sites. It also includes the installation of 4 ultra-fast charging stations of minimum 150 kW DC - 3 in Romania and 1 in Croatia.
