April 10 (SeeNews) - Total revenue from tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria in February increased by 2.4% year-on-year to 51.4 million levs ($29.56 million/26.3 million euro), the statistical office said on Wednesday.
The revenue from overnights spent by foreign nationals edged up by 0.5%, while the revenue from Bulgarian residents rose by 4.7%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
The total number of tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria in February fell 3.8% to 904,100.
The biggest drop in the number of overnights, of 5.4%, was registered by three-star hotels, which serviced 20% of the total number of overnights of international visitors and 33.9% of the overnights spent by Bulgarian residents.
A total of 376,000 visitors stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria in February, down 3.4% year-on-year. The number of Bulgarian residents staying in accommodation establishments declined 1.5%, while the number of foreign visitors decreased by 6.8%.
