March 29 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's general industrial producer price index (PPI) declined by an annual 9.3% in February after retreating by 14.2% on the year in January, the statistical office said on Friday.
In monthly terms, the industrial PPI edged down by 0.6% in February on the back of a 7.1% price drop in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a monthly report.
Producer prices on the domestic market shed 12.1% year-on-year last month, following a 17.8% decrease in January. The decline was mostly driven by a 29.5% plunge in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply prices. Producer prices on the non-domestic market lost 4.4% on the year in February.
On an annual comparison basis, the most significant price growth in Bulgaria's manufacturing industry was observed in the making of tobacco products - by 39%. Domestic producer prices in the manufacture of tobacco products jumped by 55.1% year-on-year.
