February 14 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian reinsurance company EIG Re, part of local Euroins Insurance Group (EIG), is seeking an extension of the license granted to the company by the Financial Supervision Commission, according to a statement by the regulator.
The FSC has asked EIG Re to provide additional documents and information regarding its request for a license to offer new types of insurance policies, the regulator said in a statement on Thursday.
EIG Re was Bulgaria's third-largest reinsurer, with gross written premiums of 3.6 million levs ($2 million/1.8 million euro) in the first nine months of 2019, according to the latest FSC data. During the nine-month period, EIG Re booked premiums only from reinsurance policies concerning goods in transit, ships, and fire and natural forces.
