May 26 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Blagoevgrad municipality said on Tuesday that it has awarded a 26.7 million levs ($14.9 million/13.7 million euro) deal for construction of a combined heat and power (CHP) plant and an anaerobic composting installation for sorted waste to a local tie-up.
The deal, which will benefit from EU financing under Operational Programme Environment 2014-2020, was signed on April 28, the municipality said in a notice.
The tie-up is led by local company Balkanika Energy, which owns 60% interest, according to registry agency data.
The tender for the contract attracted two offers.
The composting facility will have an input capacity of 15,819 t. per year.
