March 30 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's government will abolish the state of Covid-19 epidemic emergency as of April 1, health minister Assena Serbezova said on Wednesday.
Bulgaria will lift all Covid-19 restrictions, including the wearing of protective face masks in closed public spaces and observance of physical distance, Serbezova said as seen in a videо file published on the website of public television BNT.
The Covid-19 measures will stop being mandatory as of April 1 and become recommended instead, Serbezova added.
The government imposed the state of epidemic emergency in April 2020 to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease.
Bulgaria has confirmed nearly 1.14 million COVID-19 cases thus far, of which 187,031 still active. By March 30, Bulgaria had administered nearly 4.35 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, according to data published by the health ministry.
