March 6 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria posted the second-largest annual decline in the industrial producer price index (PPI) in January, at 17.8%, preceded only by Ireland with 21.5%, Eurostat said.
In contrast, Slovenia registered the sole annual rise in industrial PPI among EU member states in Southeast Europe (SEE) and third-highest in the EU, at 0.3%, the bloc's statistical office said in a data release on Tuesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Greece recorded the only growth in industrial PPI among EU states in SEE, at 0.7%, compared to a bloc average decline of 0.9%.
Bulgaria, on the other hand, marked the steepest monthly fall in industrial prices in the region, at 1.8%.
Industrial producer prices in the EU went down 8.4% on the year in January.
