April 4 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria recorded the EU's second-largest annual increase in house prices in the last quarter of 2023, at 10.1%, followed by Croatia with 9.5%, Eurostat said on Thursday.
On a quarterly comparison basis, Croatia registered the second-largest house price rise in the EU and largest among EU countries in Southeast Europe (SEE) in the review period, at 3.4%, the bloc's statistical office said in a data release.
At the same time, Bulgaria marked the lowest quarterly growth in housing prices among EU members in SEE, for which data is available, at 1.2%.
At 3.7%, the annual climb in Romania's housing prices was the lowest in the region, compared to a bloc average of 0.2%.
Overall, the EU saw an average quarterly decline of 0.3% in October-December.
