- The government will raise to 270 levs ($202/138 euro) from 230 levs the bottom monthly salary which will cost the budget over 20 million levs, Prime Minister Boiko Borisov said. The government plans also an increase in pensions by between 10 and 45 levs.

- Demand for local agricultural produce shrank and prices fell on fears of a spread of the E.coli bacteria that killed tens of Germans.
- The number of literate school graduates has dropped, data of the education ministry showed.
