October 25 (SeeNews) - An explosion at a production facility of Bulgarian state-owned ammunition manufacturer VMZ Sopot on Wednesday killed one worker and injured another, public broadcaster BNT reported.
The explosion was limited to a small area and occurred when a press exploded while workers were handling explosive materials, the public broadcaster said, citing the Plovdiv police department.
VMZ-Sopot is starting an internal investigation into the explosion, which did not cause a fire risk or threaten the lives of other workers.
The state-owned factory manufactures and tests weapons, ammunition, military equipment and property.
