March 1 (SeeNews) - State-owned Albanian Railways opened calls for an engineering consultant on the rehabilitation of a railway line linking the port city of Durres to the central town of Rrogozhina, with a budget estimated at 1.8 million euro ($1.94 million), it said.
The bidders must offer their services for a five-year period stretching before, during, and after the reconstruction and electrification of the 40-kilometre single-track railway line, it said in a tender notice published last week with the EU Commission on its website.
In January, Albania’s infrastructure ministry told SeeNews that the project’s total investment value is estimated at 120.5 million euro, of which 62 million euro will be financed through a European Union grant, whereas the remainder will be covered by loans provided by the EBRD and EU’s lending arm, European Investment Bank (EIB).
Offers for the construction consultancy tender can be submitted until April 20, Albanian Railways added.
