TIRANA (Albania), December 5 (SeeNews) – The Albanian Development Fund (ADF) said it is inviting bids in a tender for the upgrade of the Pogradec-Tushemisht road section, in the southeastern part of the country.
The bidding deadline is January 22 and the construction works must be completed in eight months, ADF said in a tender notice published by the country’s public procurement agency on Tuesday.
The assignment is part of a project for improving regional and local roads connectivity in Albania and financed with the proceeds of a $50 million (41 million euro) loan from the World Bank.
“The project supports improved access to several agricultural and tourism centers in Albania, the World Bank said in April.
The ADF is a public agency whose mission is to encourage a sustainable, balanced and cohesive socio-economic development at local and regional level. The ADF was established at the beginning of 1993, based on an agreement between the Albanian government and the World Bank.
