The industry's total revenue was BGN 17,585,103,000 in 2017, up by 5.83% compared to the previous year.
The combined costs of the companies in the Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply industry reached BGN 17,059,461,000 in 2017, up by 5.92% year-on-year.
The industry's total revenue makes up 20.19% to the country's Gross domestic product (GDP) in 2017, compared to 19.81% for 2016 and 21.48% in 2015.
A total of 32,358 people were employed in the Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply industry in 2017, compared to 35,759 in 2016 and 38,760 in 2015.
Most of the companies in the industry are based in Sofia, followed by Plovdiv and Varna.
