THE ANNUAL ABIRD IR AWARDS - A CELEBRATION OF LEADERSHIP AND GOOD PRACTICE IN PUBLIC
COMPANIES

For the eighth consecutive year, the Association of Investor Relations Directors in Bulgaria held its Annual IR Awards on December 07, 2022, honoring the best investor relations directors and their companies.  The awards ceremony encourages good practice and consistency from the best performing companies.

During the 2022 Annual IR Awards, certificates were also given to students of the IR Junior Class - ABIRD's training program for young people.

IR AWARDS 2022 as the largest and most significant event of ABIRD gathered over 80 participants: representatives of partner organizations, event sponsors, media partners, investor relations managers, finance directors, financial analysts, representatives of investment firms, large Bulgarian institutional investors.  Special guest of the ceremony was Ms. Maria Filipova, Deputy Chair of the Financial Supervision Commission, who awarded a prize in the category "BEST COMMUNICATIONS WITH INVESTORS AND INTERESTED PARTIES".

The following Investor Relations Directors and their companies were awarded in 5 categories:

In the category "BEST IR ELECTRONIC WEBSITE" the prize for 2022 was awarded to Pelagia Vijacheva from Sopharma AD.

In the category "BEST IR INITIATIVES" was awarded to Miglena Dimitrova from Bulgarian Stock Exchange AD.

In the category "BEST COMMUNICATIONS FOR STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT, MANAGEMENT AND RISK" was awarded Denitsa Stefanova from Allterco AD.

In the category "BEST COMMUNICATIONS WITH INVESTORS AND INTERESTED PARTIES" the prize was awarded to Daniela Peeva from Monbat AD.

The highest award "BEST INVESTOR RELATIONS DIRECTOR" was deservedly won by Ivan Daskalov from Telelink Business Services Group AD.

While in the first few years of the organization's existence ABIRD concentrated its efforts on uniting investor relations directors, raising disclosure standards and enhancing the professional qualifications of those working in this profession, today, 17 years after its establishment, the association's members have much more ambitious tasks: rethinking the overall concept and approach of issuers to investor expectations, encouraging good practices, participating in legislative processes at national and European level, publicizing individual examples of sustainability and global leadership.  Every year, the expectations of investors rise and ABIRD strives to create professionals who can meet these expectations. In addition, the Association has set itself the task of preparing a new generation of investor relations directors through the Junior IR class program for young people, which has been running for four years now.

Each year, the ABIRD Annual Awards promote a cause with a social impact, to which the organization allocates 20% of the sponsorship packages. This year, ABIRD supported the children of the “Elizabeth-Rhythmic” Gymnastics Sports Club.

About ABIRD: The Association of Investor Relations Directors is the only representative organization of investor relations managers in the country.  Established in 2005, the Association today brings together more than 120 investor relations directors of public companies listed on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange AD. The members of the organization are investor relations directors who combine in-depth knowledge of law, finance, marketing and communications in their daily activities. ABIRD cooperates with all participants and institutions in the capital market in Bulgaria.  At the European level ABIRD is represented in the High Level Forum Capital Market Union of the European Commission, in the Corporate Finance Standing Committee of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), in the Corporate Events Group (CEG) of the European Central Bank (ECB). We have also chaired the National Corporate Governance Committee for the last three years.
