Yazaki halts operations at three Bulgarian plants until April 4

March 24 (SeeNews) - Japanese automotive parts manufacturer Yazaki said on Tuesday that it is suspending production activities at its plants in the Bulgarian towns of Dimitrovgrad, Sliven and Yambol until April 5 over the rising number of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country.

The suspension affects around 2,470 employees in Dimitrovgrad and around 2,000 in Sliven and Yambol, the company said in a statement.

Globally, Yazaki has shut down production activities at 20 plants.

Yazaki's Bulgarian unit generated revenue of over 360 million levs ($200 million/184 million euro) in 2018, according to its latest annual financial statement.
