March 14 (SeeNews) - The World Bank said it approved the provision of 110 million euro ($121.8 million) to support Croatia’s project for modernization of digital land administration services.
The integrated land administration and justice services project will help the Croatian government tackle existing challenges and advance next-generation reforms by digitizing and integrating land registry and cadaster services, followed by an upgrade of key information systems processing land registry, cadastral, and court data, the global lender said in a press release on Wednesday.
The project also includes activities for developing geospatial datasets for infrastructure and buildings nationwide and rehabilitating court, land registry and cadaster infrastructure to European Union standards in the towns of Novska, Rijeka, Bjelovar, and Velika Gorica.
Currently courts, land registry offices, and cadaster offices are often scattered around municipalities rather than co-located, creating access challenges for citizens and leading to multiple journeys and time wasted, the World Bank said.
