August 5 (SeeNews) - Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air said that it is adding a seventh aircraft to its Sofia base and will launch two new routes connecting the Bulgarian capital to Hamburg and Stockholm from December 13.
A new Airbus321ceo will join Wizz Air's Sofia fleet, which represents a local investment of 100 million dollars (97.8 million euro), Wizz Air said in a press release on Thursday.
The move will increase to 11 the number of aircraft in Wizz Air's fleet in Bulgaria, with three planes based in Varna and one in Burgas. It will also create 50 new jobs, with an estimated 200 indirect ones, as the low-cost carrier affirms its long-term commitment to the Bulgarian market.
Wizz Air also plans to increase the frequency of flights linking the Bulgarian capital with 12 of the airline's most popular destinations. Some of these are Abu Dhabi, Brussels, Copenhagen, Geneva, Madrid, Nice and Tel Aviv.
