July 26 (SeeNews) - The Romanian unit of British wireless operator Vodafone said that its service revenue was flat on the year in the three months ended June 30, at 178.2 million euro ($208.5 million).
The operator's customer base edged up by 0.6% on the year to 9.638 million at the end of June, of which 8.9 million were mobile users, Vodafone Romania said in a statement on Wednesday.
Vodafone Romania’s mobile average revenue per user was 6 euro in the first quarter of the company's financial year 2018/2019 started April 1.
"In the past quarter, we have continued our efforts to become a fully convergent player by concluding a wholesale service agreement to launch fixed-mobile service packages. Once completed, the acquisition of UPC Romania will allow us to consolidate our position on the fixed-mobile segment," Vodafone Romania CEO Murielle Lorilloux said.
At end-June, mobile postpaid customers represented 41.4% of the total mobile base and prepaid customers represented 58.6%.
Data usage during the quarter surged 68% on the year.
Vodafone Romania is a subsidiary of Vodafone Group.
The group has mobile operations in 25 countries, partners with mobile networks in 46 more, and has fixed broadband operations in 18 markets.
