August 18 (SeeNews) - Austria's Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) said on Thursday its pre-tax profit from operations in North Macedonia fell 30% y/y in the first half of 2022 to 500,000 euro ($508,500).
VIG's total gross written premiums (GWP) in North Macedonia rose 5.7% on the year to 15.5 million euro, the company said in a financial report for the January - June period.
The premiums of the motor third party liability sub-segment increased by an annual 9.4% to 7.0 million euro in the six months under review.
Casco premiums grew 9.8% to 1 million euro, whereas other property insurance premiums rose 1.2% to 7.4 million euro.
Health insurance premiums added 64% year-on-year to 200,000 euro.
Elsewhere in Southeast Europe, VIG operates in Romania, Serbia, Moldova, Bulgaria, Albania, Kosovo, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
