ZAGREB (Croatia), November 22 (SeeNews) – Austrian insurance group UNIQA said its earnings before taxes from operations in Croatia increased to 7.5 million euro ($8.3 million) in the first nine months of 2019, from 4.9 million euro a year earlier.
Total gross written premiums from operations in Croatia rose 10% year-on-year to 63 million euro in the January-September period, UNIQA said in its nine-month 2019 financial report published on Wednesday.
UNIQA's gross written premiums in the non-life insurance segment in Croatia rose to 36.7 million euro in the review period, up 14% on the year. Gross written premiums from life-insurance fell 4% to 18.7 million euro, while premiums in the health segment soared 37% to 7.6 million euro.
In Southeast Europe (SEE), UNIQA operates in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo, N. Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Croatia. Its premiums written in the region - excluding Romania - rose by 7% on the year to 240.5 million euro in the first nine months of 2019.
