October 11 (SeeNews) - Ukrainian investors have expressed interest in Croatia's financially strained Uljanik shipbuilding group, Zagreb-based media reported on Thursday.
A meeting was held between Croatian government representatives and the Ukrainian investors on Wednesday, news agency Hina quoted Croatia's economy minister Darko Horvat as saying.

"[...] the Ukrainian colleagues are today in Rijeka, tomorrow in Pula, we will have more information when they visit both shipyards and then we will be able to give a little more details," Horvat said.
The Uljanik Group is made up of two major shipyards -- Uljanik and 3. Maj, along with smaller subsidiaries. The group has been in financial trouble for some time due to the adverse effects of the global financial crisis on the shipbuilding sector in general which has led to a drop in orders for new vessels.
