ANKARA (Turkey), February 28 (SeeNews) – Registrations of road motor vehicles in Turkey grew 42.2% year-on-year in January, reaching 94,540, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
On a monthly comparison basis, the number of commercial vehicle registrations rose by 48.8% in January, TurkStat said in a statement.
In terms of types of vehicles, registrations of special purpose vehicles increased the most in the period under review - by 138.3% compared to January 2019.
Registrations of tractors were up 85.9%, while those of cars were up 48.6% year-on-year. For minibuses the rise was 45.0%, for small trucks 33.1%, for trucks 26.3%, for buses 7.6% and for motorcycles 5.7%.
Of the total number of road motor vehicles registered in January, cars accounted for 69.8%, followed by small trucks 16.4%, motorcycles 6.7%, tractors 3.0%, trucks 1.9%, minibus 1.2%, bus 0.7% and special purpose vehicles 0.3%.
