April 18 (SeeNews) - Turkish telecom company Turk Telekom [BIST:TTKOM] said on Thursday it has submitted a binding offer to acquire Bulgarian wireless operator Globul, a unit of Greece's Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation (OTE).
The move is part of Turk Telekom's strategy for regional expansion, the company said in a filing to Borsa Istanbul.

Turk Telekom has also filed a binding bid for OTE's retail chain Germanos Telecom Bulgaria.
Globul is the trademark of Cosmo Bulgaria Mobile, wholly-owned by OTE unit Cosmote.
