SKOPJE (North Macedonia), September 13 (SeeNews) – The number of foreign tourists who visited North Macedonia in the first seven months of 2019 increased by 2.3% year-on-year to 409,924, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
The number of domestic tourists rose 1.9% to 212,800 in the period under review, Makstat said in a statement.
The total number of tourists staying in the country in the seven months through July increased by 2.1% year-on-year, reaching 622,724.
The number of overnights spent by tourists in North Macedonia in January-July rose 0.9% to 1,626,461.
In July alone, the total number of tourists staying in North Macedonia decreased by 2.5% year-on-year to 171,862, with 97,666 of them being foreign nationals.
Out of the total number of foreign tourists who visited North Macedonia in July, 22.2% came from Turkey, 8% from Serbia and 7.9% from Poland.
