SKOPJE (Macedonia), June 12 (SeeNews) – The number of tourists staying in Macedonia in the first four months of 2018 rose by 18.7% year-on-year, reaching 227,000, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.
The number of domestic tourists rose 10.8% year-on-year to 74,438 in January-April, whereas the number of international visitors increased 23% to 152,562, the statistical office said in a statement.
The number of overnights spent by tourists in Macedonia in the review period increased 17.5% on the year, to 469,446.
Out of the total number of foreign tourists who visited Macedonia in April, 22.7% came from Turkey, 8.4% from Bulgaria and 6.2% from Serbia.
