TIRANA (Albania), March 4 (SeeNews) – The Swiss government through its secretariat for economy affairs (SECO) will support the Bank of Albania with an assistance and capacity building programme in the 2018-2022 period, the central bank said.
The programme is expected to help the bank improve its monetary policy decision making, forecasting capacities, macro-prudential policy about various risks and enhance research capacities, governor of the central bank, Gent Sejko said in a press release on Friday, after signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Swiss ambassador to Tirana, Adrian Maitre.
The governor also said that the signing of the agreement follows the conclusion of a very successful cooperation in the period 2013-2018, which improved significantly the Bank of Albania's analytical, research and technical capacities in monetary policy implementation, banking supervision, financial stability and payment systems.
The new program will be implemented through expert missions, on-line courses, technical workshops and study visits. It will cover fields such as human resources management, business continuity in time of crises, and communication of research.
