December 11 (SeeNews) - Swedish company Rosti Group said on Wednesday it plans to open a custom-built 10,000 sq m factory for plastic injection moulding and contract manufacturing in Romania in August 2020.
Rosti Group will start works on its second plant in Romania in early 2020, it said in a press release.
The value of the investment was not disclosed.
It will be possible to add a further 8 000 sq m to the new factory to support customers’ future growth, the company said.
"As customers are moving further into Eastern Europe, Rosti has responded by opening a new, larger plant. I am really excited to welcome both existing and new customers to our new Romanian facility, which offers the benefit of cost-effectiveness, whilst ensuring the highest quality standards you can expect," Rosti Romania managing director Ovidiu Lica said.
Rosti Romania operates a small factory established in 2013 in the southern city of Ploiesti to support a customer’s manufacturing needs in this part of Europe. As the company has continued to grow and added new contracts, the capacity of its current 4,000 sq m production site in Ploiesti has become insufficient.
The new factory will be located just a few kilometres away from the present facility.
"This expansion is a further step in Rosti’s strategy of developing technical capabilities and expanding its manufacturing footprint to meet current and future customers’ needs. Having established excellent customer care and world class operational performance at our current facility, it is now time for our high performing Romanian team to take this next step," Rosti Group CEO Brendan Colgan said.
Malmö-headquartered Rosti Group, owned by the Swedish family-controlled investment company Nordstjernan, is a global plastic injection moulding and contract manufacturer to some of the world’s leading companies within a wide range of industries such as packaging, consumer, medical, business machines, industrial and technical products.
The group employs over 3,500 in production sites in Sweden, Germany, Romania, Poland, Great Britain, Turkey, China and Malaysia.
