October 12 (SeeNews) - The Bulgarian capital Sofia said that it will receive 60 new compressed natural gas (CNG) buses by the end of next week.
Sofia also expects to receive 20 electric buses and an additional 22 CNG buses by the end of the year, the municipality said in a statement on Thursday.
Next year, the city expects to get 60 articulated CNG buses.
Since 2014, Sofia has replaced 60% of its public transport bus fleet with vehicles, which meet the EURO 6 emissions standard. By next year, this number will increase to 90%, the municipality noted.
